LEGIONOWO, Poland - Greece coach Fernando Santos will make changes to his starting lineup for the must-win match against Russia on Saturday at the European Championship. Santos said a reshuffle is needed to prevent another slow start for his team, which dropped to last place in Group A after losing to the fast-paced Czech Republic 2-1 on Tuesday, conceding two goals in the first six minutes. The Greeks held Poland to a 1-1 draw in the opener. "There will be changes in the lineup, reflecting the need to react faster and press more," Santos said Wednesday. "There is a problem with speed, not in running but in reacting. Thats the biggest problem were facing, because that is something players learn young: How to react in a tight space." Group A leader Russia needs only a draw to be sure of qualifying for the quarterfinals, while the Greeks have to win to advance. "We can only go for one result -- victory," Santos said. "I think we have all let ourselves down. But we must have faith in the team. We can make a fresh start against Russia. "We must put problems behind us, and players must use the passion they have. I am sure that we can make the Greek people happy." Key central defender Sokrakis Papastathopoulos will return from suspension for the Russia game. But goalkeeper Costas Chalkias has been ruled out with a left thigh injury, adding to team casualties with injured defender Avraam Papadopoulos already withdrawn from the tournament. Greece has conceded three early goals at Euro 2012, a setback Santos blamed on a lack of concentration. But the Portuguese coach maintained his attacking formation, playing four strikers in the second half. He said the gamble to bring on in-form striker Costas Mitroglou for the last 20 minutes against the Czechs failed to pay off as the overstreched midfield reacted too emotionally and put too many long passes into the Czech area. "Thats not something that happened in the past. I cant really explain it," Santos said, referring to the Greeks lapses of concentration. "I told my players it shouldnt happen again -- as I did after the first game. I think this time, the players will realize it themselves." Cheap NFL Jerseys.C. -- For years, they have been rivals.
